hahahaaaaa ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
well, as you all know i'm in Pennsylvania. I'm really missing all my seattle neighbors but also enjoying the country soooooooooo much. here are some pics for ya'll. also i changed my picasso address for my trip with tess, the new name is corrinatessa instead of corrinabob. (the little girl karla who i live with at the moment loves the name bob - hence using the name "bob" in the old name.)
http://picasaweb.google.com/corrinatessa
Love love
ps - t & I have a new blog for our travels, at
http://corrina-tessa-around-the-world.blogspot.com/

so here are some of my favorite pics from my trip. first is a shot from one section of the great wall outside of Beijing. next is tiananmen square from just across the street, followed by the front row of terra cotta warriors in Pit 1 of Emperor Qin's tomb in Xian. I couldn't believe it when I saw it, but a couple was having their wedding reception at the hotel we stayed at in Shanghai and in addition to being greeted by the happy couple, guests were also greeted by and photographed with lifesize Hello Kitty and Mr. Hello Kitty!! Lastly, one of the giant pandas who live at the Beijing zoo.
It's so wonderful to be back in Seattle... Llove to you, neighbors far and near!!
Bonjour, comment allez-vous?
I'm heading to France on Friday to visit Emma for 10 days....yipieee!!! Let me know if there is anything you want me to give her, you've got until Thursday :P
Some requests she had:
- Curling iron
- English measuring cups (bwaahaahaaaaa...she's cursing at the metric ones)
- Peanut butter

hey neighbors... the moon is full this sunday... that's the night of the Underpants show... the neighbors will be out... is anyone else a little curious to see what will happen this time? And BTW, I think the near-fullness of the moon has MUCH to do with the odd occurrences of the week...
I'm excited for this weekend.... and i'm excited to see you all....
Much llama llove....
be careful out there....
i found this today on digg. i think it can be applied very easily to non-corporate people too... for example, jamming a tray into corrina's leg while trying to serve drinks on that very same tray is definitely "uninvited personal contact," right? i hope you get a chuckle out of it... :)

i know it's hip hop which is not everyone's cup o' tea, but the lyrics are pretty funny... so humor me. :)
Now I can finally understand Sam... Did you know that "blow off" in British means "fart" in English?? How about that.

FROM JILL:
Hi Guys!
Just wanted to send out an e-mail about next Sunday's brunch. Looking forward to having all of you over again - There is always room and plenty of food for everyone, so come one come all! (Can someone please forward this to Myra - Ben's roommate, and Baca). Coffee will be ready by 10:30.
Bring your cereal bowl, because I have PEANUT BUTTER BUMPERS!!!! Way, way, waaayyyy better than captain crunch or lucky charms, and its organic! For those of you who don't like cereal - I'll be making an egg fritatta (vegetarian of course!) with green chilles and a hashbrown caserole.
Many of you have asked what you can bring, here are some things that we can always use...
Orange juice
Half & Half
Fresh Veggies
Milk
I think I may need a few extra coffee mugs (perhaps 5?)
If anyone happens to be making a costco run this week (but please don't go out of your way) croissants are also always nice.
...Or anything special that you feel like having on Sunday.
The Marie Antoinette Movie is showing at the Majestic Bay Theater down the street from my house, I was thinking after brunch I might go to the movies - so hang around if you are interested in going.

Just a quick update to let you guys know that Emma found an apartment that sounds like a very cool loft style place with a view similar to the ones in the pictures she posted earlier. Hopefully she'll post some pics soon!
Emma - your MOM found the webcam in the trunk of the car!!
Michelle, cool pictures!!!! Would you like a gallery at http://gallery.vdubya.com as that might be better for picture names and descriptions?

ahhhhhhhhh
i wish it was sunday brunch RIGHT NOW and i could be lying on the floor with a swollen stomache. Thats the hard things about amazing friends and wonderful moments, They make other moments not quite as sparkly.

For those of you who didn't know (and I would have to then ask 'where the heck have you been?!?)...Emma has moved to Marseilles, France for a one year "expat" work stint. She is perfectly capable of explaining her "situation", how she's doing, and whatever else you might want to know, so I'll leave that up to you and her. What I am going to cover is how the heck to talk to her without breaking the bank using TECHHHNOOOOOLOGY

I was wondering the other night about where the word "potluck" came from. It's kindof a strange word since it doesn't seem to have anything to do with food. After all, "pot" can mean a lot of different things! The reason I wondered was that as a kid, my parents would tell me about what some of their friends used to do when they would get together many years ago when a bunch of the folks who had just moved to San Francisco from Korea were just starting out. They would get together at someone's house or sometimes at a restaurant. There was a money pot and everyone would contribute a certain amount each time they came. At the end of the dinner, someone's name would be chosen and they would get all the money. Doesn't that sound like a potluck? The way it would usually work out was that whoever got the money that time was indeed the person who probably needed it most. I always thought it was a kinda neat way for a community of friends to take care of one another... although I suppose it could get expensive.
Anyway, come to find out that the term "potluck" really came from nothing more than taking your chances on what might be in the pot of food that someone that you may or may not know very well brought to the party:
potluck
1592, from pot (1) + luck, with notion of "one's luck or chance as to what may be in the pot."
what a letdown... I like my version of potluck better. But don't get me wrong... the neighbors, we potluck like nobody's business... yo.
So, by "neighbors" we actually mean "friends". For us, a neighbor is not somebody that shares geographic proximity rather it is somebody who shares philosophical proximity and enjoys sharing it with others. My neighbors are inherently quirky, funny, creative, humble, like to laugh (a lot...and loudly), and have ADD (hahaaaa). Neighbors have been spotted in the wild calling each other neeeeeeiiiiggghhhhboooooooooors.
Today's neighbor recap:
Jill, thanks a ton for having us all over for brunch, it rocked!!!
Those youtube pics were a riot...Harman, what were the url's or search terms you used? Maybe post in the comments section. My fav was the airbag commercial...hilarious.
Jill, let me know if Picasa or Skype give you any grief.
Michelle, I think I found your answer for hanging the shower curtain slash art on the wall (never thought I'd be saying that...). Use small piping as a frame and wrap the curtain around it.
